TRIANGLE CLUB STORY
The purpose of the Club is to provide a safe, secure, and sober environment in order to extend the reach of hope, encouragement, help and support to individuals and families affected by alcoholism. This non-profit organization provides a clubhouse to serve as meeting facilities for forty-fifty 12-Step meetings every week. Collectively, these meetings host approximately 50,000 people every year.
The Club is open from 6:30 AM until 10:00 PM seven days week and 365 days year. At Christmas and New Years there are 24-hour Alcothon meetings, and on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day the Club provides free holiday meals, which typically serve 300+ people from all walks of life. During major holidays over the year, the Club hosts events for guests and members.
In addition to meeting facilities, the Club has a full service café open all day, an arcade, a members’ lounge and multiple indoor and outdoor spaces for group and individual meetings. The Club’s mission is to promote 12-Step programs and fellowship before, during and after group meetings, and to further the social, recreational and entertainment functions consistent with the overall aims of AA and sober living.
The Triangle Club owns and operates a 9,877 square foot clubhouse located at 1369 Okeechobee Road in West Palm Beach, Florida. The large meeting room will be named in Harry’s honor. The soon to be Hamilton Hall hosts large meeting groups with its capacity of 180 people. The Club has a commercial kitchen which is used by Meals-On-Wheels to prepare meals for homebound seniors in the West Palm Beach community. The Club is also home to the Palm Beach County AA Intergroup office in a free-standing building on the Club’s property. Intergroup coordinates the efforts of local 12-Step programs with national initiatives.
The Triangle Club hires and trains those in early recovery to help them reintegrate into the work force and society. Due to the long hours and always open policy, and a desire to host meetings at low cost, the Club operates at a deficit. Only through fundraising is the Club able to maintain its large property and building.
